SAKS Urban Design Hotel in Kaiserslautern – a Hotel Review

Kaiserslautern is a city in the southeast of Germany, in the area of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is set at the north end of the Palatinate Forest.

The special German town is mainly famous for it’s close proximity to Ramstein Air Base, the largest American Air Force Base abroad. If you are on a weekend trip to Kaiserslautern and you still need a place to stay – say no more.

The SAKS Urban design hotel in Kaiserslautern was truly amazing and I can totally recommend it to everyone visiting the city. Keep on reading and find out all about my stay in this Kaiserslautern hotel.

Location

The SAKS urban design hotel in Kaiserslautern is located right on the Stiftsplatz in the city center of Kaiserslautern. You can reach all major sights and shopping streets in a few steps. Right below the hotel is a parking garage for hotel guests, so you can easily reach the hotel by car without any trouble.

The Rooms

The rooms of the hotel are super chic and very spacious. We had an amazing view over the Stiftsplatz from out room. The design is very modern, yet cozy and you have all kinds of special amenities right in your room.

Our favorite was of course the Nespresso machine with free coffee during our stay. We had free WiFi and a very big TV, so there was also plenty of entertainment we could enjoy from our cozy bed.

The Hotel – Amenities

The hotel had a very well equipped fitness room and a bar and restaurant downstairs. My favorite part of the hotel was the free (!) spa and sauna on the highest floor, with an amazing view over the city. We enjoyed the sauna, had a complimentary coffee and relaxed a bit before going to bed. Truly great!

The breakfast buffet was equally amazing. For 15 EUR we enjoyed one of the most fabulous breakfast buffets in Europe. There were so many different local and international dishes to try from.

We started off with the classics, some granola and a cafe latte. Later, we enjoyed some Greek salad, an omelette and delicious treats from the charcuterie board.

As a dessert, I tried to fit in a super yummy pancake! The breakfast buffet at the SAKS urban design hotel in Kaiserslautern was definitely worth the money!

Best Restaurant in Kaiserslautern

If you are, like us, super hungry from exploring and in need of a great restaurant for dinner in Kaiserslautern, then I got you covered.

The St. Martin restaurant in Kaiserslautern is located right next to the St. Martin church, so it is only a 5 min walk away from the SAKS urban design hotel Kaiserslautern.

We ate delicious, traditional German meals and drank fabulous cocktails! The service was super friendly and we could even sit outside (in October) under some blankets next to the famous St. Martin fountain.
