Where Is Mambo Beach Curacao?

Mambo Beach (also known as Seaquarium Beach), is located on the south coast of Curaçao. It is pretty close to the Curaçao Sea Aquarium.

Mambo Beach is located in an area called Bapor Kibra. It is the only main beach in that area.

The beach is about a 10-minute drive east from the heart of Willemstad, the island’s capital. It is the closest beach to the Curacao Cruise Port.

You can easily drive to Mambo Beach, and there are plenty of free parking spots. Refer to my Curacao Travel Guide for practical tips about driving in Curacao.

Things To Do On Mambo Beach Boulevard Curacao

Mambo Beach is pretty big as you can see on this picture. The beach part separates into a couple of different beach clubs that own a strip of sand each.

Behind the beach area you can find the boulevard, a two-story shopping center filled with cute shops, great restaurants and hip bars.

You can find the Lion’s Dive Hotel and the Curacao Sea Aquarium in the far East of Mambo Beach. The Lion’s Dive Hotel has its own part of the beach, but you can still access it from Mambo Beach.

Beach Clubs on Mambo Beach Curacao

1. Cabana Beach

Cabana Beach is the first beach club on the western side of Mambo Beach. It is my favorite beach club in Curacao.

On Cabana Beach you can rent super comfy beach beds and umbrellas for the day for a small charge. From there, you can enjoy ambient music and the beautiful beach.

Cabana Beach has a great restaurant and bathrooms as well as showers.

You can even order delicious food, cocktails and snacks to the beach beds. This is one of the best things to do in Curacao for couples.

2. Wet & Wild Beach Club

Lush palm trees and vibrant beach chairs arranged on a small, sandy outcrop surrounded by the gentle azure waves of Mambo Beach in Curaçao.

Right next to Cabana Beach you can find the Wet & Wild Beach Club.

This is mostly a hangout spot in the evening with fun music and drinks. They have concerts and parties almost every day.

Throughout the day you can hang there as well, since they have a couple of chairs there.

3. Madero Ocean Club

The main part of Mambo Beach is made up from a couple of bars and beach clubs that have chairs, beach beds and cabanas all over the beach.

The biggest beach club is Madero Ocean Club. They have a pool and a stage for concerts. Their restaurants is also pretty nice.

From Madero Ocean Club all the way to the Lion’s Dive Hotel you can find beach beds for rent, beach bars and all sorts of swings and signs for pictures.

It is not always clear which beds belong to which club, but you can just sit down and they will come find you with an invoice.

4. Riléks Strandbar & Bonita Beach Club

A lively beach scene at Mambo Beach in Curaçao, featuring vacationers and a bright yellow lifeguard, with thatched umbrellas and palm trees swaying in the breeze.

Next to the bigger Madero Ocean Club, you can find a couple of smaller bars that rent out beach chairs and serve food and drinks.

Riléks Strandbar and Bonita Beach Club are nestled in between Madero Ocean Club on the west and Lions Dive to the east.

This part of the beach is super lively with lots of music, playing children and a good vibe.

You can also rent beach beds here. They are pretty close together, so it is not my favorite part of the beach.

The Curacao Sea Aquarium

The author, sporting sunglasses, shares a joyful moment with a friendly dolphin in the clear shallow waters off Mambo Beach in Curaçao.

The Curaçao Sea Aquarium is a really great place on Mambo Beach. It is an educational and interesting place for young and old.

You and your children can get up close with some of the sea life native to Curacao. Think feeding flamingos, touching starfish, and seeing all sorts of fish.

It’s pretty hands-on, which is awesome. They have a Dolphin Academy where you can swim or even dive with dolphins.

Important: The aquarium focuses a lot on education and conservation. So, while you’re having fun, you’re also learning about marine life and the importance of protecting our oceans. This is not the kind of place where they lock up the animals in small tanks for fun.

Snorkeling on Mambo Beach

Overhead view of the rocky coastline at Mambo Beach in Curaçao, with waves gently breaking over the rocks, showing the natural beauty of the island's edge.

Mambo Beach Curacao is a great place for beginner-friendly snorkeling. There are also a couple of dive sites close by.

After only swimming for a couple of meters towards the stones protecting the beach, you can see lots of fish and even some corals.

This is a great spot for kids to snorkel, because there is barely any current. The beach is also pretty overseeable.

On Mambo Beach Curacao you can also find a whole lot of shops selling snorkel and diving gear.

Shops, Restaurants and Cafés

Whether you are in need of a beach towel or a delicious snack, Mambo Beach Boulevard in Curacao has it all.

There are quite a few stores on the lower level of the Boulevard, selling beachwear, souvenirs and snorkel gear. There is even a tattoo parlor, in case you need a long-lasting memory.

The beachwear shops are pretty pricey in my opinion, I would rather not buy anything there. For the rest, the shops are cute and you can find some nice things.

The upper level of the Mambo Beach Boulevard is mostly reserved for restaurants. You can find the amazing breakfast spot Bliss the Berry and a great steakhouse called Bocas.

My favorite restaurants are the Mexican El Grill and the Sushi restaurant SuViche. These are some of the best restaurants in Curacao.

Hotels on Mambo Beach Curacao

If you are looking for a hotel room on Mambo Beach Curacao, look no further. Mambo Beach is a super popular area to stay in Curacao.

There are two bigger resorts that have exclusive access to the beach, the Kontiki Beach Resort and the Lion’s Dive Beach Resort. Both are great Curacao diving resorts.

The Sea Aquarium Hotel and Sunscape Curacao Resort & Spa are also pretty close to Mambo Beach, but don’t offer any direct access.

Behind the Mambo Beach Boulevard, you can find a couple of more budget-friendly hotels. Sadly, they do not have access to the beach.

Kontiki Beach Resort

The Kontiki Beach Resort is the biggest and most luxurious hotel on Mambo Beach Curacao. Their luxury suites have an amazing view over Mambo Beach – and a private plunge pool on the balcony of every suite.

But they also have smaller rooms that are more budget-friendly.

Overall, the resort has pools, restaurants and access to the beach clubs to offer its guests. It is a great choice for any traveler going to Curacao.

Lion’s Dive Beach Resort

The second resort that has immediate access to Mambo Beach is Lion’s Dive Beach Resort.

They also offer a big selection of smaller and bigger rooms, and even some luxurious suites. Lion’s Dive also has two different spa’s and four different restaurants to offer to its guests.

The 4* Hotel is renowned for its great service and beautiful amenities.
